ಅದೃಷ್ಟದ ಮೀನು
ಕಾರ್ಟೂನಿಷ್ಠರಾಗಿ,ಲೇಖಕರಾಗಿ, ಕಥೆಗಾರರಾಗಿ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪಾರವಾದ ಅನುಭವದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದವರು. ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಕಥೆ, ಹನಿಗವನ, ಸಂದರ್ಶನ ಲೇಖನ, ನುಡಿಚಿತ್ರ ರಚನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವೇದನಾಶೀಲರಾಗಿ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತ ಬಂದವರು. ಸುರೇಶ ಅವರ
ಮಕ್ಕಳಕತೆಗಳು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಬಹುದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ನಾಡಿನ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆ, ವಾರಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಸಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕು ಕಂಡಿವೆ.
ಈಗ ಸಧ್ಯ ಸುರೇಶ ಅವರ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಕೃತಿ ‘ಅದೃಷ್ಟದ ಮೀನು’ ಎಂಬ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕಥಾ ಸಂಕಲನ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿತಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂತೋಷದ, ಅಭಿಮಾನದ ಸಂಗತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸುರೇಶ ಅವರ ಈ ಸಂಕಲನದ ಕಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ, ಪಕ್ಷಿ ಪ್ರಪಂಚವೇ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ತುಂಬ ಸರಳವಾದ, ಹದವಾದ, ಹಿತಮಿತವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಬಳಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಅಪ್ಯಾಯಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಚೆಲ್ಲುವರಿದಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಮುದ ನೀಡುವ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದ, ಸುಲಲಿತವಾದ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಈ ಸಂಕಲನದ ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯವೆನೆಂದರೆ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಕತೆಗೂ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವುದು ಔಚಿತ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣವೆನಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕೃತಿಯು ಸೊಗಸಾಗಿ, ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ, ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಎನಿಸಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸತನವಿದೆ, ನೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿವೆ. ಮಾನವೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಳವಿನ ಸೆಳೆತವಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಬೇರೊಂದು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆಳೆದೊಯ್ಯುವ ಗುಣ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಈ ಕಥೆಗಳಿಗಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲ ವಯೋಮಾನದವರಿಗೂ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಮತ್ತು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿವೆಯೆಂದೇ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಪಂಚತಂತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಗಳು ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಅರಳಿಸಿ ರಸಾನಂದ ನೀಡುವ ಅದೃಷ್ಟದ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ ಸುರೇಶ ವಗ್ಗಾ ಅವರಿಂದ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು, ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಕೃತಿಗಳು ಹರಿದು ಬರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೃದಯಾರೆ ಹಾರೈಸಿ, ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
